2010 Soccer Opening Day Parade

BUSC ParadeThe Annual BUSC/RAGE Soccer Parade will be held Saturday September 11th in downtown Pleasanton.

Teams will be staged by Age Group and by Team Number from St. Mary's St and Main and along Peters Ave.  The parade will commence at 7:30AM sharp and proceed down Main St., turn onto W. Angela, and then proceed backup Peters Ave to the staging area.

There will be no assembly or post-parade activities at the Fairgrounds. Teams are highly encouraged to exhibit creativity, fun and to bring a little "Mardi Gras" in September to downtown Pleasanton!  Freebies and other goodies will be provided by BUSC/RAGE sponsors along the route.

Parking for participants is permitted in legal parking spaces along adjoining streets.  Main St., Peters Ave, W. Angela and cross-streets in between will be barricaded and traffic and parking will not be permitted.  Parents should allow sufficient time to drive, park and assemble before the 7:30 AM start and be prepared for traffic as between 6:30 AM- 900 AM.  BUSC and RAGE players will be participating in the parade.

The BUSC/RAGE Soccer Parade is an annual and long-standing tradition in Pleasanton.  Help us to continue providing a fun outlet for our children to be active participants in their own parade.

Have fun and help celebrate the kickoff of the 2010 Soccer Season!

The Ballistic United Soccer Club Hall of Fame

Golf TournamentThe Ballistic United Soccer Club - Hall of Fame was created in 2010 as one-way to reflect on the over 40 years of the club’s history and recognize individuals who have contributed in many different ways to the success of the club.  Whether a board member, referee, coach, player, volunteer, or administrator, the clubs Hall of Fame will induct a maximum of three (3) of the most deserving individuals each year that are submitted to the nominating committee.

This year’s event will take place on Monday, October 18th, starting with a 12:00pm “shotgun start” at Sunol Valley Golf Course. The Hall of Fame Reception will take place at FAZ Restaurant in Pleasanton with cocktails/silent auction beginning at 6:00pm and the Dinner & Hall of Fame Inductions beginning at 7:00pm.

The current nominating committee is made up of Kevin Crow-Ballistics’ Technical Director, Tony Chavarria- Ballistics’ Division 4 Director, and Paul Smith-Current Ballistic board member. The plan is to add two Hall of Fame members to the nominating committee for future years. The role of the nominating committee is to determine the most worthy candidates out of the many possible choices that are submitted. For the inaugural year, the nominating committee will induct five (5) individuals as the “Inaugural Class of 2010”.

The slogan “Celebrating the Past – Planning for Our Future” was created to explain why the event takes place. Both events (golf portion & dinner/silent auction) are fundraisers for the club.  Individuals can choose to attend either event separately or attend both events and help us together celebrate our long established history.

It is my hope as the technical director of the club, that our membership will take ownership of this wonderful event.  Our current members and their families are direct beneficiaries of all of the hard work and volunteer spirit that went into building the club beginning in 1968! These early pioneer efforts and visionaries helped establish the Sports Park and Val Vista.  The club will use the proceeds to continue its visionary efforts by supporting capital improvements, such as its future field development initiatives, in the years to come!

The inaugural recipients will be announced in the next few weeks. In the mean time, we are asking for both our recreational and competitive teams and coaches, to begin to reach out to their neighbors, friends, family, and corporate relations. Details of various ways to support the event are detailed in the attached.  We are looking for support in the following areas: individual golfer or foursomes, silent auction items, and Hall of Fame dinner event ticket sales.

Anyone wishing to help with this event is encouraged to contact:  Anna Molz / molz6@comcast.net / 925.462.9691.  BUSC appreciates your help and needs your help to make this event a success.

Cabernet and BUSC Partnership

Click for flierProgram details:
Ballistic United and Cabernet Indoor Sport, located in Livermore, have partnered together to develop a program that will help fund the BUSC financial aide/scholarship program. The program is straight-forward. For every team that signs up under the BUSC club, Cabernet will donate back $300 of the indoor registration fee to our financial aide program. In addition, the owner of Cabernet, Fred Walke, will match the Cabernet donation with an additional personal donation of $150! This equates to a $450 donation straight into our club scholarship fund for every team that participates!

To BUSC Division 4 (Recreational) U9 and U10 Parents

BUSC is completely dependent upon parent volunteers to support youth soccer in Pleasanton. While every volunteer is important in supporting your son's soccer season, two roles are absolutely critical. Parent coaches and referee volunteers are absolutely the most critical volunteer position we must staff for the U9/U10 program. Volunteers are what make our soccer programs possible. I encourage you all to participate at whatever level you can and to step up where needed to ensure all of our youth have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful game.

Many Thanks, Rob Borghese, Division 4 Director

BUSC Has “Club History” WEB PAGE

BUSC has a very long and proud history.  You will be surprised how deep the Club's roots go.  Built by hundreds of dedicated individuals, who have spent thousands of volunteer hours managing the club, training soccer players and otherwise making sure that boys in the Tri-Valley area have a place to play quality soccer, BUSC has become synonymous with soccer of the highest quality.

Three generations of individuals have now played, coached or have been involved with Ballistic United Soccer Club programs.  In  preparation of the club's 40th anniversary, BUSC has started to assemble a Club History page.

Please take a look at the various articles by clicking here.
