Mission
To provide a program dedicated to develop
and sustain a quality, consistent, safe
and positive environment to assist youth
soccer players in attaining their highest
possible level of personal skills, tactics,
sportsmanship and overall soccer proficiency
through proper teaching and competition.
Overview
There are three levels of play for players
in age groups U10 (defined as "under
10" years of age as of August 1 of
the playing year) through U19 within California
Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) youth soccer,
divided into Divisions I, III and IV. The
Division is associated with both the level
of play and with how the teams are selected.
The highest level of play within Ballistic
soccer is Division I. These teams play in the
CYSA District 3 Al Caffodio Division I League
administered by CYSA District III, against
other Division I teams within the district
(Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville,
Fremont and Newark), or in other CYSA district
Leagues as assigned. They travel to tournaments
beginning in August and play in State Cup
competition in the Winter/Spring. This level
requires the greatest time commitment and
expense. Some Division I teams at the older
age levels are invited to play in the State
Playing League. See the CYSA Web page (www.cysanorth.org)
for additional information on the State
Playing League. Division I teams are generally
in single-year age groups from U9 through
U19. Division I teams are formed by individual
player selection at tryouts held in the
Spring.
The second level is Division III (Traveling
or Advanced House). Division III teams are
in age groups from U9 through U19 and the
teams play in the Al Caffodio Traveling
House League within CYSA District III. Some
travel to tournaments or U10 Jamborees.
A more moderate level of expense is involved
at Division III than at Division I. Division III
teams are formed based on individual player
selection and tryout ratings.
All other Ballistic soccer players play
in a Division IV (House League) in Pleasanton.
Division IV teams, like Division III, are age
groups from U9 through U19. It is not necessary
to attend any tryout to play at this level.
This league is divided into Divisions for
U10 and U14, based mostly on the prior years
rating, years of soccer experience and area
of school attendance. Division IV teams are
formed primarily by geographic areas with
players from the same neighborhood, and
from prior year coach evaluations of the
players.
Tryouts for Division I and III teams are held
in the Spring. All players wishing to try
out for one of these teams must attend at
least two daily Division III tryouts for their
age group from Monday-Thursday. Division I
tryouts for the age group are held that
Saturday and Sunday. Division III final tryouts
and team selection for Traveling House teams
are held the following Saturday and Sunday.
Club Philosophy
The club philosophy is that development
of Ballistic players and how we play the
game is a greater priority than winning.
Our focus is to place more importance on
skillful and creative play that will produce
better soccer players. It is the philosophy
of BUSC that no child will be denied the
ability to play based on financial
hardship. |
